DNA evolved to minimize frameshift mutations

چکیده
We are interested in a sequence the more homogeneous as poss composition to compare its frequency with a less homogeneous one. First t codons composed by the repetition of the same nucleotide: AAA, CCC, GGG and TTT in Figure 1). If we look at the amino a acids that are associated also with frequency of 2 sequences undergoing differences due to the fact that the associated amino acids could be coded by a diverse number of codons to minimize frameshift mutations

Introduction: β –Thalassaemia was first explained by Thomas Cooly as Cooly’s anaemia in 1925. The β- thalassaemias are hereditary autosomal disorders with decreased or absent β-globin chain synthesis. The most common genetic defects in β-thalassaemias are caused by point mutations, micro deletions or insertions within the β-globin gene. Material and Methods: In this research , 142 blood sampl...
متن کاملFrameshift Mutations (Deletion at Codon 1309 and Codon 849) in the APC Gene in Iranian FAP Patients: a Case Series and Review Of The literature
Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) is responsible for <1% of colorectal cancer (CRC) cases and is inherited as an autosomal dominant trait. Patients generally present hundreds to thousands of adenomas and develop colorectal cancer by age 35- 40 if left untreated. Here we report four patients with germline frameshift mutation (small deletion) at exon 15 of adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) tumo...
متن کاملStructural diversification and neo-functionalization during floral MADS-box gene evolution by C-terminal frameshift mutations.
Frameshift mutations generally result in loss-of-function changes since they drastically alter the protein sequence downstream of the frameshift site, besides creating premature stop codons. Here we present data suggesting that frameshift mutations in the C-terminal domain of specific ancestral MADS-box genes may have contributed to the structural and functional divergence of the MADS-box gene ...
متن کاملFamilial Hypercholesterolemia in Iran: A Novel Frameshift Mutation in Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor (LDLR) Gene
Background and Objective: Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an autosomal trait, which is caused by mutations in Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor (LDLR) gene. FH penetrance is about 100% and worldwide prevalence for heterozygous subjects is almost 1 in 500 and for homozygous 1 in 1,000,000. The patients are at risk of premature coronary heart disease (CHD) due to defective LDLR a...
متن کاملEvolution and multilevel optimization of the genetic code.
The discovery of the genetic code was one of the most important advances of modern biology. But there is more to a DNA code than protein sequence; DNA carries signals for splicing, localization, folding, and regulation that are often embedded within the protein-coding sequence. In this issue, Itzkovitz and Alon show that the specific 64-to-20 mapping found in the genetic code may have been opti...
